Week of 2/12

Last week we learned about how penguins have a protective coating on their wings to repel water! We loved our experiment!

Dear Parents,

We will start Unit 5 in reading this week. Due to the short week, Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day we will not test in reading this week. We will be starting long vowels with the spelling words so it would still be great if you studied the words each night so your child can get used to the new spelling pattern. We will also be starting a new math unit this week and practice adding and subtracting sums and differences up to 20. Here are the rest of your reminders for the week:

- Dress down day on Tuesday! Please bring in $1.00 to dress down.

- Please send in valentines by tomorrow so we have them ready to go for Thursday!

- We are still collecting canned goods if you would like to donate some.

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- We will celebrate Ash Wednesday with mass at 9:00am. All are welcome to join!

- On Thursday we will celebrate Valentine's Day and also do a service project with our buddies! It is a free dress down day, but our grade is asked to wear the color orange!

- No school on Friday or Monday! Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

Thanks!

Miss Tosti
