Week of 5/20

Dear Parents,

We are in the home stretch! This week and next week we will be reviewing for exams. Here are your reminders:

- This will be our last week of homework!

- Our last reading and spelling tests of the year will be this Thursday!

- Wednesday is our annual May Procession. Students are to wear their winter uniforms. The kids need to be in our classroom no later than 6:40 pm and can be picked up by the front doors of the school after the May Procession. In the event of rain, we will meet and be dismissed from the Church. Please let me know if you have any questions.

- An exam schedule will be sent home this week along with study guides. We will be reviewing them in school, but they should also be reviewed at home.

- No school on Friday, 5/24, Monday, 5/28 and Thursday, 5/30.  Hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

- Reminder that Doughnuts with Dudes will be Tuesday, June 4th at 8:30 am.  More information will sent home in the coming weeks.

We will begin our final unit on geometry this week. We will review all the 2D shapes and talk about symmetry. We will also be working with 3D shapes.

Week of 5/13

Dear Parents,

I hope that all of you (especially the moms) had a wonderful weekend! I know the kids were very excited to give your their gifts :). I also wanted to thank you all for a fantastic teacher appreciation week. We were all blown away by the thoughtfulness, creativity and generosity that went in to making the week a special one. We are truly blessed to work in such an amazing school.

This is the beginning of the end. We will start our last story of the year this week and also start our final math unit on geometry. When we return from the Memorial Day holiday we will start preparing for exams.

Here are the reminders for the week:

- Our class Mass is Tuesday at 9:00 am. Hope to see you all there!

- Kids are to wear their spring uniforms on Tuesday and pack a pair of sneakers for gym class later. Thank you for your help with this.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 17 on Friday. A study guide will be sent home.

- Important dates for May/June:

Week of 5/6

Dear Parents,

We will continue to work hard and finish strong these last few full weeks of school. I believe there are only 19 full school days left! I always takes some time to reflect how far these little ones have come since September. It's truly amazing how much growth happens in first grade.

Here are your reminders for the week:

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a short measuring quiz on Thursday.

- We will have a reading and a spelling test on Friday this week.

- Our first grade Mass will be next Tuesday at 9:00 am. We hope to see you all there!

- Important dates for May/June:
      - Wednesday, May 22nd - May Procession at 7:00 pm
      - No school Friday, 5/24, Monday, 5/27 and Thursday, 5/30
      - Tuesday, June 4th - Doughnuts with Dudes at 8:30 am

- The bench dedication for Erin Lively will be this Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in the Grotto. All are welcome to join.

- On Thursday, there will be an Alex's Lemonade stand at school during recess. All proceeds will go to CHOP.

- Don't forget to sign up for the SK5K which will take place this Saturday!
