Week of March 9th

Dear Parent/s,

I hope every enjoyed the long weekend! Let's hope that was the last storm we will see this year! Today we will be making up the tests from last week so I can get them into GradeConnect for the 2nd Trimester report cards. Today begins our last trimester. Where did the year go?! There is not too much going on this week, but here are a few reminders:

- Third trimester begins today.

- We will continue with Terra Nova review. The TN will be taken the week of 3/23.

- Leprechaun Trap projects due Tuesday, March 17th.

- There will be a reading and spelling test on "At Home in the Ocean" on Friday.

- Dress Down Day on Friday. Please send in $1.00 to dress down.

- Remember the Fashion Show is rescheduled for Wednesday, March 25th.

A Peek at Our Week!

Religion

We will take the Chapter 11 test and start Chapter 12 "The Church Serves."

Reading 

Story: At Home in the Ocean

Target Skill: Author's Purpose (why did the author write the story)

Phonics Skill: digraph -th, ending -s, -es, -ed, -ing

Grammar Skill: Proper nouns
Spelling words: blue, cold, far, little, live, their, where, water, that, then, this, them, with, bath

    

Math

We will take the test on place value and 10 more/less. We will begin our unit on time. We will learn how to tell time to the hour and half hour. We will also continue to review for the Terra Nova and finish our subtraction flash cards.

We will continue to do timed math, however the amount of time to complete the 60 problems will go down. Please make sure your child is studying their facts each night. There are a ton of apps and websites that they can used to practice!
