Week of January 19th

Dear Parent/s,

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! I can't believe we are halfway through January already. We have a pretty calm week before the start of Catholic Schools Week on Sunday. Here are a few reminders:

- Please be sure to check your child's homework. The past two weeks many kids have been forgetting to complete all of their work. Thanks for your help with this.

- If you have not replenished your child's art supplies or index cards please do so this week.

- We will have a Religion test on Chapter 9 on Friday.

- This Sunday we will open Catholic Schools Week with Mass at 11:30 am. This will be followed by Open House at 12:30 pm at the school. Please join us and we prepare for a fun-filled week!

- I will be sending home the schedule of activities for Catholic Schools Week later this week so you can prepare for all of the different things that we will be doing next week.

That is it for now!

*The test will be next week. I will also give the students 3 sentences to write using the spelling words. Punctuation will be marked along with correct spelling.

Math
We will work more with fact families this week. We will also begin to learn how to find missing addends. (4 + ___ =  7, 7 - ___ = 3). We will have a test on subtraction next week. We will continue to do timed math, however the amount of time to complete the 60 problems will go down. Please make sure your child is studying their facts each night. There are a ton of apps and websites that they can used to practice!
Timed math worksheets can be found at the website below. All you need to do is select all of the numbers next to "Adding," click "Create Worksheet" at the bottom of the page and print! http://www.worksheetworks.com/math/basic-operations/addition-up-to-15.html
