Week of September 15th

Dear Parent/s,

We had a great week and are looking forward to another one! Here are a few reminders:

- Please remember to cheek your child's home folder each night and to sign their behavior calendar.
- Journals need to be decorated and covered by this Friday.
- Friday, September 19th will be a Dress Down Day. Please bring in $1.00 to dress down.
- Please continue to study Magic Words each night!

A Peek at Our Week!

Religion
We will finish up Chapter 1- "God is Our Father" and we will have our first Religion test on Thursday.

Reading
Story: "The Storm"
Target Skills: Understanding Characters and Realistic Fiction
Phonics Skills: Short i sound, consonant sounds r, h, and s- that sounds like z (his, has)
Grammer: We will continue with nouns and start working with possessives

Math
We will be working a lot with numbers this week! Skills will include what number comes before, after and between, ordering numbers from least to greatest and greatest to least. We will also begin to to compare numbers and learn the symbols <, > and =.
