Monday, 3/30

Reading
1. Journal - If you had one super power what would it be and why?
    1. Write the date at the top of the page: March 30, 2020
    2. Write your answer using neat handwriting, uppercase letters and punctuation marks.
    3. Read your entry to an adult or older sibling and fix any mistakes.
    4. Illustrate your entry with a colorful picture.
2. Review Magic Words and Spelling words
3. Complete "Write 3 Ways"
4. Watch this VIDEO and read "Where Food Comes From?" with Miss Tosti and learn about Author's Purpose.
5. Reading workbook page 31

Math
1. Watch Math lesson HERE to:
    - complete "Money Match" cut and paste worksheet
    - review counting pennies, nickels and dimes
    - to learn how to count quarters and quarters and pennies
2. Optional - complete "Color by Coin". If your child needs extra practice identifying coins, have them complete this worksheet.

Money Games for Extra practice this week:
Dolphin Dash - (if your child is doing well with counting coins this is a challenging game for them!

Money Bingo - (if your child just needs review this is great! Select which coins you want them to practice. As they get better choose more coins.

Religion
Start with Special Intentions.
1. Chapter 20 - Lent - Talk with your child about Lent and ask them what they know about it already?
2. Have them look at the picture of the children on page 231 - ask them if they know what story they are acting out? The Good Samaritan! Have them tell you about the story.
3. Connect the how helping other and Lent go together

2. Complete "Pyramid Spelling" worksheet neatly. 
3. Complete Espark Assignment (green box above Reading) on Long and Short Vowels
4. Reading workbook page 35 - watch this VIDEO for help
5. Optional - Go to https://www.ixl.com/ and login.  (Feel free to use this website/app and the login to practice other skills too!)

     - Click "Learning" tab
     - Click "Language Arts" tab
     - Click on "First Grade"
     - Play "PP. 2." Capitalize days and months

Math
1. Skinny math book page 106 - Complete before watching video
2. Watch this VIDEO to complete:
        "Nickel and Quarter Count"
        "Dime and Quarter Count"

Religion
Start with Special Intentions
1. Read pages 232-233 and talk about what Resurrection means. During Lent we prepare for Jesus rising from the dead or resurrecting!
2. We remember our Baptism (review from last week that a sacrament is a sign given to us my Jesus!) during Lent and all that Jesus has done for us. 
3. Talk about ways how you can grow closer to Jesus and God during Lent.

Wednesday, 4/1

Reading
1. Review Magic Words and Spelling words
2. Complete "Roll, Read, Write" Fill in all lines on front page
3. Read "Where Does Food Come From?" and watch this VIDEO to answer the 4 comprehension questions in your packet.
4. Reading workbook page 40

Math
1. Big math book pages 361-362 - complete before watching video
2. Watch this VIDEO and complete "Mixed Coin Count" worksheet with me.

Religion
Start with Special Intentions
1. Complete page 234 - Color in the cross and talk about the things you have done during Lent to help you grow closer to God. Have you given anything up? Have you prayed more? Etc.
2. Read the Prayer Service on page 235 together
3. Complete the My Lenten Journey paper -  You can draw pictures to show what you have done or write your answers.

Zoom Read Aloud 11:00am- Bring a stuffed animal with you to read with Miss Tosti

Reading
1. Review Magic Words and Spelling words
2. Reading workbook page 43
3. Read "Where Does Food Come From?" and complete "Write About Reading". Rewatch the beginning of the Author's Purpose video if you need some help.
4. Complete "Contraction Match Up". Rewatch "Contraction Surgery" video from last week if you have trouble.

Math
1.  Play "Does Jordan Have Enough Money to Buy His Treats?!" with our favorite pup Jordan!
 - you will need the worksheet and your change ready! (This can be found after the "Mixed Coin Count"
2. Optional - Play IXL.com Q.3 or Q.4 (if counting with quarters is too tricky play Q.3)
3. Skinny math book page - 108

Religion
Start with Special Intentions
1. Complete Project Disciple on page 236
2. Complete second My Lenten Journey paper - draw or write in answers.

    1. Write the date at the top of the page: April 3, 2020
    2. Write your answer using neat handwriting, uppercase letters and punctuation marks.
    3. Read your entry to an adult or older sibling and fix any mistakes.
    4. Illustrate your entry with a colorful picture.
2. Read "Where Does Food Come From?" and take your reading test. (I only read the questions on the first page (not the answer choices). They should be able to complete the rest themselves, but of course help them if they have any questions!
3. Review Spelling words and take your Spelling Test with a parent or OR WITH ME HERE
4. Read you Magic Words to someone or HAVE ME QUIZ YOU on them here. You can mark them correct or incorrect on the last page of your reading test.

Math
1. Play a second round of "Does Jordan Have Enough Money to Buy His Treats?!" HERE.
- you will need you worksheet and change ready!
2. Optional - play IXL Q.3 or Q.4

Religion
Start with Special Intentions.
1. Talk about the Stations of the Cross with your child. Do they have a favorite one? Why is it their favorite? What does if teach them?
2. If you want, watch this video first. It is a children’s version of the Stations of the Cross. It does a great job of explaining what happened in each station. 
*This class really enjoyed going to Stations of the Cross at school, so I think they will like this!
