Week of 10/8

Mrs. Manfrey came to read to us last week!

Dear Parents,

The busy October continues! Here are your reminders:

- Test folders will be sent home on Tuesday. Please sign and return all tests on Wednesday.

- We will have our Chapter 2 Religion test on Thursday. A study guide will be sent home today.

- Our October Monthly Mass will be this Friday at 9:00 am. All are welcome :).

- Information about the first grade Saints Celebration will be sent home tomorrow. The kids should be working on their short report this week as it is due Tuesday, October 16th. They may choose any saint they want! Please make sure the report and the picture are done neatly. Don't forget to have your child practice reading their report because they will be sharing it with the class for a grade. The Saints Celebration will be on Friday, October 26th.

Grandparents/Special Friends Day will be on Wednesday, October 24th from 9:30-10:30. Grandparents or special friends are invited to join us in the cafeteria at 9:30am to enjoy some light refreshments, to make a small craft and shop for books.

- Winter uniforms start next Monday! School pictures will be taken on Thursday next week. Forms were sent home last week.

- Last week we started using Reading Eggs! It is an great website/app that helps develop reading skills. All students took a placement test so the games, activities and books they read are all leveled to their ability. We will be using it a lot in school but the kids are encouraged to use it at home too! You can find their login and password in their home folder.   Here are some pictures of the kids using it.

We will also be practice ways to make ten using ten frames. This is a helpful skill when learning addition.
