Week of 5/23

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. As we come to a close of the school year I spoke with the kids about finishing strong. Please continue to help your child study and read each night along with checking that their homework is done correctly and that the right pages are completed. Last week we had a quite a few kids who were not prepared. We will begin our last story of the year this week and we will continue learning about shapes too. Here are your reminders:

- If you can donate a can or two of tuna please send it in by June 6th. It is a service project to help make casserole dinners for Mercy Hospice.

- There will be a shape quiz on Thursday. Students will need to identify 2D shapes (square, rectangle, trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon and octagon). They will also need to know what a polygon is and know the difference between 2D and 3D figures. We will be reviewing all week.

- Dress down day on Thursday. Please send in $1.00 to dress down.

- No school Friday, May 27th and Monday, May 30th. Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

- When we return next week, we will begin preparing for exams.

Have a wonderful week!

Miss Tosti
