Week of 5/2


Dear Parent/s,

Happy May! We are officially in our last full month of first grade. I can't believe how fast this year has flown by! We have an exciting week with the first grade Mass coming up on Thursday. I hope everyone can make it. Here are the reminders for this week:

- First grade Mass 9:00am on Thursday.

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return Wednesday. Thanks!

- There will be a reading and spelling test this Friday.

- Terra Nova scores have come in and should be sent home sometime this week. If you have any questions about them please let me know.

- If you would like to mystery read on 5/12, 5/19 or 5/26 from 2:00-2:30 please let me know.

- Mark you calendars for next Wednesday, May 11th for the May Procession. More information will be sent home next week.

A Peek at Our Week!

Religion
We start Chapter 17 "The Church Welcomes New Members" this week and learn about the sacrament of Baptism.

Reading

Math
This week we will continue our unit on measurement. We will work with non-standard measurement. We will also begin to talk about standard measurement and estimating length and weight. Please continue to practice counting by 2s, 5s and 10s at home and continue to study math facts each night.
