Week of May 18th

Dear Parent/s,

We have another busy week! We will start our last story of the year in our reader and begin our last math unit on geometry. After we finish them we will start preparing for exams. More information on exams will go home next week. Here are the rest of your reminders:

- There will be a short math quiz on graphing on Tuesday.

- The first grade will be putting on the monthly Mass this Wednesday at 9:00 am. We have been practicing very hard and would love for you to join us if you can!

- The final Home and School Meeting for this year will be Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. All are welcome :)

- Thursday will be a Dress Down Day. Please send in $1.00 to dress down.

- No school Friday, 5/22 and Monday, 5/25. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

A Peek at Our Week!

Religion
We will continue with Chapter 16 "We Celebrate the Sacraments." We will learn what sacraments are and we will begin to memorize the seven sacraments. 

Reading 
Story: Animal Groups
Target Skill: Comparing and contrasting
Phonics Skill: Long i (with a silent e), digraphs kn, wr, gn, mb
Grammar Skill: being verbs is and are
Spelling words: bird, both, eyes, fly, long, or, those, walk, time, like, kite, bike, white, drive
    
Math
This week finish up graphing and have a short quiz. We will start our last unit on Geometry. We will be learning about polygons and 2D shapes. Please continue to practice timed math at home a few times a week.
