Dear Parents,

Happy Catholic Schools Week! We have a fun week planned with lots of activities! You can find all the information you need below. Valentine's Day information is also posted below!

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday this week.

- Dismissal is at 12:00 pm on Friday!

- Some special Catholic Schools Week notes:

                  *Send in canned goods, MLK bags and shampoo all week!

                  Monday (1/31) - dress down (no charge) in yellow

                  Tuesday (2/1) - Crazy 8's Day and Crazy Hair Day - accessorize your school uniform with 8 items (shoes, jewelry, socks, hats, sunglasses etc)!

                  Wednesday (2/2) - Dress up as your hero day!

                  Thursday (2/3) - Blue and White Day! Dress down in blue and white!

                  Friday (2/4) - Pajama Day! Dismissal at 12:00 pm. 

Valentine's Day info:

     - please have all valentines sent to school no later than Friday, February 11th.  

     No candy is permitted

             

Homework

- There will be no written homework this week! Please just review for the reading and spelling test and read for 10-15 minutes each night

Week of 1/24

Dear Parents,

The kids have been doing really well with memorizing the long vowel patterns and spelling words. I know these words are harder and trickier but the kids have been finding the different patterns we have learned so far everywhere! We have another full we before Catholic Schools Week starts on Sunday. Look below for an outline of what to expect! Here are the reminders for the week:

- If you have not been a Mystery Reader yet, please be sure to sign up this week! Next week, I will open it up to sign up a second time for the remaining slots!

- We will have a math test on 10 more/less and 1 more/less on Tuesday. A review will be sent home for homework tonight.

- If you would like to send in rosary beads for your child, please do so. We will start saying a decade of the rosary every Friday as a class.

- We will have a Religion test on Chapter 9 on Friday. A study guide was sent home today.

- You can send in your MLK Bags of Service this and next week and any shampoo donations. Thank you!

Catholic Schools Week begins at Mass on Sunday! Be on the look out for an email with more detailed information about the Virtual Talent Show, SKS Spirit Family Pics and Art Activity!

  Some special notes:

Week of 1/17


Dear Parents,

I hope you had a nice long weekend! Last week we talked about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and why he is an important part of history and a great role model! 

- The MLK Bags of Service can be picked up this week! They will be collected during Catholic Schools Week (January 31st-February 4th). First grade has also been asked to donate shampoo! Thanks in advance for your help with this.

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Thursday. 

- Our Monthly Mass will be this Thursday at 9:00 am. Please join us in person or virtually.

- We will have a reading and spelling test this Friday on the story and words for "Seasons".

Week of 1/10

Dear Parents,

I hope the kids enjoyed their first snow day of the year! I don't know about you, but I felt like it was much needed even though it was out first week back! We'll take our tests today that we were supposed to take on Friday and start our new story for the week. Here are the rest of the reminders:

- We did a supply check today. Lots of kids are in need of new sharpened pencils, glues sticks, crayons etc. If you could check with your child this week and grab some new supplies in the next week or two that would be great!

- With the cold weather, please be sure to mark all outerwear with your child's name!

- Spelling words will increase from 8 to 10 this week! They have been doing an excellent job with these!

- Wednesday is a Dress Down Day for the BVM School in North Philadelphia. Their school was flooded and then broken into, burglarized and vandalized. Please send in $1.00 to dress down. Thank you!

- Thursday is picture retake day.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 8 on Friday.

- There is no school on Monday, January 18th for MLK Day.

We loved Pajama Day!

I hope you all had a great break! Thank you so much for your generous Christmas gifts. The entire faculty and staff truly appreciate your kindness and generosity. This week we will be working at getting back into our normal routine in reading, math and with homework! 

Here are your reminders for this week:

- Looking ahead: Picture retakes will be next Thursday, January 13th.

Week of 12/13



Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Concert last week! The kids looked and sounded wonderful. We hope it put you in the Christmas spirit! We have a busy full week so please read all the reminders! Here they are:

- We will start a new story this week and the long vowel e. 

- We will have math test on Wednesday on place value. A review will be sent home for homework.

- Report cards will be sent home tomorrow. Please remember that these grades are a reflection of your child's work in school along with their test scores. You may keep the actual report card at home. Please just sign and return the envelope. If you have any questions please let me know!

- On Thursday morning we will go to Santa's Secret Shop! Please mark the envelope with who your child is shopping for and how much to spend on each person. It is really helpful to me and the volunteers! You can send your envelope in anytime before Thursday! Thanks!

- Friday will be a Dress Down Day. Please send in $1.00 to dress down. Thank you!

- We are still collecting socks for the homeless if you would like to donate some this week!

Week of 12/6

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a nice weekend! I thought virtual school went pretty smoothly last week. Thanks again for your help and patience with it! We have another busy week here with the Christmas Concert and no school on Wednesday!  Here are your reminders for the week:

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Thursday.

- No school on Wednesday due to the Holy Day!

- Thursday will be the K-4 Christmas Concert! The kids should wear their Sunday/Christmas best to school on Thursday morning. Please no jeans. There will be two shows, one for parents of K-2 and another for 3-4. If you have a child in both of those grades please choose which show you would like to attend.

          - Performance 1 - 9:15-10:00 am

          - Performance 2 - 10:45-11:30 am

- The 7th grade will be doing a sock drive for the homeless. If you would like to donate socks please send them in this and next week. Thanks for you help!

- There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday. The spelling words are more difficult with the long vowel patterns so please be sure to study! 

- We have our Monthly Mass on Friday at 9:00! All are welcome!

- Report cards will be given out next week.
