Week of 9/19

Thank you, Mrs. Daniels for being our first Mystery Reader!

Dear Parents,

We made it through our first full week! We are settling in and getting used to our routine. Speaking of routines, this is the perfect time to get your child into one for after school when they get home. Children thrive when they have a routine and know what is going to happen. It's a great idea to do homework at the same time every day and in the same quiet space where they have everything they need to complete it. They should be responsible for making sure they have completed everything, had it checked by an adult, and put everything back into their school bag for the next day. If you do this every day I promise homework time will become a piece of cake!

Here are your reminders for the week:

- Homework starts and can be found on the blog and in your child's "HW" copybook.

- Journals will be sent home this week so you can begin decorating. Please make sure they are sent back to school each day. It would be great if they could be decorated and covered by Monday, September 26th.

- We will have our first school Mass on Thursday at 9:00am. Please join us!

- We will have our first reading test on the story "Jack and the Wolf" this Friday. We will take this together as a practice test so we can get used to the types of questions that will be asked on future tests. This will count as a grade.

- Magic Words will also be tested on Friday so please make sure you are reviewing them each night.

- Our first Spelling test will be on Friday, September 30 and it will be on number words. (1-10). We will start practicing this week.

I think that is it for this week! Please email me if you have any questions!
