Week of 1/9

Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a nice weekend! There are a few things going on this week so please be sure to read through! Here are your reminders:

- We did a supply check today. Lots of kids are in need of new sharpened pencils, glues sticks, crayons etc. If you could check with your child this week and grab some new supplies in the next week or two that would be great!

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday. Thank you!

- The first grade is collecting shampoo for the MLK Day of Service on Monday, 1/16. If you would like to donate some please send it in by Friday!

- With the cold weather, please be sure to mark all outerwear with your child's name!

- Spelling words will increase from 8 to 10 this week! They have been doing an excellent job with these!

- Wednesday is a Dress Down Day. Please send in $1.00 to dress down. Thank you!

- Thursday is picture retake day.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 8 on Friday.

- There is no school on Monday, January 18th for MLK Day.

We did some fun Christmas STEM activities last week!


Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a great break! Thank you so much for your generous Christmas gifts. The entire faculty and staff truly appreciate your kindness and generosity. This week we will be working at getting back into our normal routine in reading, math and homework! 

Here are your reminders for this week:

- There will be a reading and spelling test on Friday.

- Looking ahead: Picture retakes will be next Thursday, January 12th.
                            No school Monday, January 16th for MLK Day.

Week of 12/12

 

It was a great Christmas Concert!


Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas Concert last week! The kids looked and sounded wonderful. We hope it put you in the Christmas spirit! There are only 8 full days before Christmas Break and there is a lot going on so please read all the reminders! Here they are:

- Due to our field trip we are moving our class Christmas party to Tuesday, 12/20! If you volunteered to send something in please send it in by Tuesday morning! Thank you!

- Report cards will be sent home tomorrow. Please remember that these grades are a reflection of your child's work in school along with their test scores. You may keep the actual report card at home. Please just sign and return the envelope. If you have any questions please let me know!

- Test folders will be sent home on Tuesday. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- On Tuesday morning we will go to Santa's Secret Shop! Please mark the envelope with who your child is shopping for and how much to spend on each person. It is really helpful to me and the volunteers! Envelopes will be sent home today so please send them back in for tomorrow! Thanks!

-We will have math test on Wednesday on place value. A review will be sent home for homework.

- Friday will be a Dress Down Day. Please send in $1.00 to dress down. Thank you!

- The 7th grade is  collecting new socks for the homeless. If you would like to donate, please send them in this week! 

- If anyone else would like to chaperone the bowling trip of Wednesday, December 21st please send me an email! I am still looking for 2 volunteers! I will be picking on Wednesday! The permission for and payment info can be found here:  1st and 8th grade Bowling Trip December 2022  Please have this completed by Friday of this week!

Week of 12/5

We practiced place value last week and got to write on our desks!


Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a nice weekend! We have another busy week here with the Christmas Concert and no school on Thursday!  Here are your reminders for the week:

- Tuesday night will be the K-4 Christmas Concert! The kids should wear their Sunday/Christmas best. Please no jeans. Please have your child arrive to church by 6:45pm. They can go right to their pew where we have been practicing. After the performance, you can pick them up from their pew! Looking forward to seeing everyone there!       

- No school on Thursday due to the Holy Day! There is a pizza party after the 12:10 pm Mass Thursday. You can sign up HERE if you would like to attend! 

- There will be a spelling and reading test on Friday. The spelling words are more difficult with the long vowel patterns so please be sure to study! 

- We have our Monthly Mass on Friday at 9:00am! All are welcome!

Our second field is quickly approaching! We will be bowling at Devon Lanes with our 8th grade buddies on Wednesday, December 21st! Please note that a pizza lunch is included in the price so you do not have to order lunch on Wednesday. We need 5 chaperones for this trip. If you are interested, please email me and I will pick out of a hat next week! Sorry, no younger siblings are welcome on this trip! If you could have the permission form and payment completed by Friday, December 16th that would be great!

- Report cards will be given out next week.

Week of 11/28

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends. This week we will start our second reading unit and start learning long vowels, we will also start a new math unit on place value and begin to practice for the Christmas Concert which will be held next week! Here are the rest of your reminders:

- The first trimester ends this Friday. Report cards will sent home on Tuesday, 12/13.

- Wednesday will be a dress down day to help fund the tree lighting. If your child would like to dress down please send in $5.00 on Wednesday.

- The tree lighting will be on Wednesday night from 6-8 pm! All are welcome!

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a Religion test on Chapter 5 on Thursday.  A study guide will be sent home today.

-Next Tuesday, 12/6 at 7:00 pm will be the K-4 Christmas Concert! The students are to wear their Christmas best!

Week of 11/14

Congrats to Charley, our first Peacemaker of the year!

Dear Parents,

We had another great week last week and will keep going strong into the holiday season. This week we will have our last reading and spelling test for our first unit and also will have a math test on fact families. Here are the rest of the reminders for the week:

- We have our first field trip on Wednesday to see the Wizard of Oz at Carroll High School! The kids can wear their gym uniforms to school. We will eat lunch a little later when we return to school. If you have not filled out the permission form or paid please do so ASAP! You can find the link HERE

- IXL and Kids A-Z logins were sent home last week! If you have any trouble logging in please let me know!

- Test folders will be sent home on Tuesday. Please sign and return on Wednesday.

- There will be a math test on fact families and mixed addition and subtraction on Thursday. We will be reviewing all week.

- There will be a reading and spelling test on Friday this week.

Week of 11/7




Dear Parents,


Thanks to everyone for taking the time to meet with me for conferences. Communication between the teacher and parents is crucial to the success of your child and I appreciate you giving up your time.
The kids have already grown so much since September and it is exciting to see their reading skills develop and grow. We will start learning long vowel patterns after we finish this story and start our second reading unit!  There are lots of pictures this week from the Saints Celebration and Halloween so be sure to check them out! Here are your reminders for the week:

- Thanks for all of the donations for the troops! We collected 5 boxes of supplies to send over and the kids made cards with their buddies to send too! Thanks to Mrs. Chott for the idea and for helping organize this!

- Our Monthly Mass for November will be on Tuesday at 9:00 am. All are welcome! 

- Chapter 4 Religion test will be on Friday. A study guide was sent home today.

- The link to the permission form and payment for our field trip next week can be found HERE

- Your child's login information to IXL and Kids A-Z will be sent home this week! The kids have used them in school and should know how to use them at home! If you have any trouble please let me know!
