Week of 6/3

Last week, we had a lesson on respect and made 'respect'ables with Mrs. Hendrickson!


Dear Parents,

Only two weeks left and a lot is going on! Here are your reminders for this week:

- Donuts with Dads will be tomorrow morning at 8:30am on the playground. Right now the forecast looks great!  All dads should meet us in the playground area with a blanket! We will meet you outside at 8:30.

- Homework this week is to study for exams. Please let me know if you have any questions about the exam schedule.

- Half days start on Wednesday for the rest of the year. Please make sure your child knows how they are getting home since some buses won't be running.

- Next Monday is Spirit Day! The kids will find out if they are on the blue or white team this week! On Monday they can wear their color to school! Please make sure you send them with their school bag, a labeled water bottle and put sunscreen on them prior to coming to school!

Week of 5/27

Dear Parents,

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful holiday weekend! Summer break is quickly approaching! We have a lot to do this week! Here are your reminders:

- First grade won a free pizza lunch for purchasing the most tickets to the Fall Classic. The kids will get a free piece of pizza tomorrow at lunch! If they do not like pizza be sure to pack them something else! Thanks!

- We will have a test on shapes on Thursday this week.  We will complete a practice test in school tomorrow to prepare for it.

- Test folders will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign and return on Thursday.

- The school counselor, Mrs. Hendrickson, will be teaching her final lesson of the year on respect to the kids on Thursday. 

- There will be a Reading and Spelling test on Unit 8 Week 3 on Friday. This will count as the final reading test/exam for this year!

- A letter with the exam schedule and study guides were sent home today! These study guides can STAY HOME and are for you to complete and review with your child. We will be reviewing for exams in school this week as well. The exam schedule is also posted below.

- Donuts with Dads will be next Tuesday at 8:30am on the playground. All dads/dudes should bring a picnic blanket/beach towel to sit on and meet us on the playground. An invite was sent home last week with all the information.

- Just a reminder that half days start next Wednesday, June 5th! Please be sure your child knows how they are getting home each day and be sure to check if your child's bus is providing transportation on these days.

Week of 5/20

Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful May Procession last week. The students did an awesome job! This week will be a short one but we still have a lot going on! Please be sure to read all of the reminders:

- This week we will start our last story of the year. We will have a spelling and reading test on this story next Friday and it will count as the reading exam. 

- A packet with the exam schedule and study guides will be sent home next week! These study guides can STAY HOME and are for you to complete and review with your child. We will be completing a set in school and they will be sent home when they are completed.

- No school Friday, 5/24 and Monday, 5/27! 

- Donuts with Dads/Dudes is planned for Tuesday, June 4th at 8:30 am in the recess yard.  Each child gets to invite their dad (or a "dude" if their dad can't make it) for coffee and donuts and some quality time! Dads, grandparents, uncles, close friends are all considered dudes :). An invitation will be sent home in your child's home folder this week!

Week of 5/13

Congrats to our third trimester Peacemaker, Beau! We are so proud of you!

Dear Parents,

This is our last full week of full days before the end of the year! I can't believe it. We will continue to work hard and build independence as the year comes to a close. I know as the weather gets warmer and the end of the year gets closer it is easy to fall out of school routines, but I ask that you continue to keep those important routines going at home so we can finish the end of the year strong!

Here are the reminders for this week:

- Tuesday night we will have our May Procession. Students are to wear their winter uniforms. The kids need to be in our classroom no later than 6:15pm and can be picked up in church at their pew after the May Procession. In the event of rain, we will meet in Church. Please let me know if you have any questions.

- We are collecting spare change for the Mother's Home for the rest of the year. You can send in any spare change until the end of the year! Thanks!

- We will have a reading and spelling test on Friday this week.

- This Sunday is also a special Mass for students who have received a sarcrament and for Sr. Mary! If you would like to volunteer please use the sign up genius found here : May 19 Parish mass and coffee Thank you!

Dear Parents,

Thank you all for coming to our mass last week! The kids did an amazing! Grandparents/Special Friends Day was great too! It was so nice meeting everyone. We have another busy week ahead. Here are your reminders:

- Be on the look out for an email about the May Procession next week! Students are to wear their winter uniforms unless the weather looks too hot, so you might want to get them out this week!

- We will celebrate Ascension Thursday with mass at 9:00 am. All are welcome to join.

- We will have a reading and spelling test on the Friday. The words are the same from last week.

- We will have a math test on measurement on Friday. A studyguide will be sent home on Thursday

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a nice weekend! We have another busy week to end out April and start the month of May! We will start Unit 8 in reading this week but will not have the reading and spelling tests until next week. The rest of the reminders can be found below!

- Our field trip to the Arden Theater is Wednesday! The kids are to wear their gym uniforms to school. Please pack a morning snack and a brown bagged lunch (no glass drinks please) as we will be eating at the theater after the play. Week of 4/22

Congrats to Trinity, who read her poem "Pink" at SCAN last week!

Dear Parents,

I can't believe this is our last full week in April! May is probably the busiest month of school so be sure to mark your calendars! We will have our last story in Unit 7 of reading this week. We will finish our graphing unit and start our measurement unit. Here are your reminders for the week:

- We will be going to see Pinocchio at the Arden Theater next Wednesday, May 1st. The permission form is posted below and the payment invoice was sent to you through FACTS last week. Please have it completed by this Friday, April 26th. The kids will need to bring a brown bagged lunch this day as we will be eating there after the play.

- I am still in need of 1 chaperone for the trip! If you would like to be one please send me an email and make sure your clearances are up to date! Thank you!
